Virtualization (Part 2) - Why I use virtualization

Now that I have explained virtualization, the question remains of why would anyone use it?

Everywhere you turn, IT professionals are talking about virtualization as the next big wave in technology. People banter around the terms Virtualization, Virtual PC, VMware, and others. But while IT people debate virtualizing computers, many people don't understand the concept, or why it's even needed.

Linux Command Line Loops

There are times you want to enter a single-line command to unzip all the files in a directory.  If the current directory is:

/home/timb/download/files

the command would be:

These are the Linux distributions I've downloaded over time. Most of these are standard ISO files, although some distributions may have additional documentation or MD5 files with them.
As I continue to download them, I will provide links to documentation and the MD5 files.
Shortly, I will place more information about MD5 hashes, on the utilities web page.

Installation of Freesco packages

It’s really not tough, but I always seem to forget how to install a package to Freesco.
Just use the following command from the freesco command line (remember you must be root to do this)

pkg -i pathname

Pathname would be the location of the package, usually in http: format.

For instance, the installation of the Dinjite’s Utils package for 0.3.x would be:
